The Filigree Theatre proudly presents Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams — a poetic journey into longing, repression, and the fragile dance between body and soul.
Set in a small Mississippi town at the dawn of the 20th century, it follows Alma Winemiller, a reserved minister’s daughter, and John Buchanan Jr., a passionate young doctor, as their complicated relationship unfolds.
Join Filigree for a powerful story of spiritual yearning, sensual tension, and the heartache of missed connections and star-crossed love.

PLEASE NOTE we are NOT at Factory on Fifth or at the Filigree office at 2200 Tillery Street; nor Kids Acting rehearsal space on Tillery Street.
PARKING:
We are next door to the Austin Film Society (AFS) Cinema.
Look for the KIDS ACTING sign above the door.
Parking directly in front of the venue is limited, so please arrive early.
However, there are a lot of parking options throughout the LINC’s shopping and dining complex both in the front and around the back.
There are many restaurants in walking distance at the LINC’s shopping and dining complex if you would like to come early to ensure a good spot.
PERFORMANCE DETAILS:
The show runs approximately 2 hours.
There will be one 10 minute intermission.
PLEASE NOTE:
There will be a prop gun on stage and simulated sound of a gunshot off stage.
The space is well air conditioned - jacket or sweater is recommended.
