About This Event

Don’t get caught unprepared when the TX film incentives yield more local on-camera auditions!

Jessica Polsky, an international talent agent with Dry Blue Agency in London, watches, critiques, and submits hundreds of self-tapes each week to casting directors for the actors she represents. Since she works remotely across time zones, Jessica can live anywhere, and she chose to move back to her hometown: Austin.

ATX Theatre and The Actor’s School are partnering to, once again, bring Jessica in for an in-depth, 7-week self-taping workshop — to help Austin actors get ready for all the auditions coming down the pike, thanks to the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP), which was expanded in late 2025 by Senate Bill 22.

This workshop series is intended for trained/experienced/working actors and for those just on the cusp of working. Actors as young as 16 can sign up for this adult class if they have serious training and experience (and if their parents are okay with it). PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is not for beginners. Sign up today before the limited seats in this class disappear!

Over these 7 weeks, you will:

1. get to know and be known by a Senior Agent from a global rep group

2. up your “castability” with positive and constructive feedback, mentorship, and career guidance

3. improve your self-tapes (to the level her agency requires to submit to casting directors) in seven in-depth, 2.5-hour workshop sessions

4. hear industry tips/practical strategies/wild stories you can't get anywhere else in Austin

5. get to know a new crowd of creatives, and support each other in the class and forever more... because...

Collaboration + Community > Competition + Isolation!

Jade is also an executive producer on many feature and independent projects, as well as a coach. She and Jessica collaborate on many projects.

ABOUT JESSICA:

Jessica Polsky Alotto’s career has taken her both around the world, and up every rung of the entertainment industry ladder. She began as a dancer and Broadway musical theatre artist with many successful years in NYC, and then was brought to Italy, where she enjoyed almost 2 decades of a celebrity-profile primetime network TV career in Europe. She went on to shift behind the scenes as producer, director, casting professional, on-set acting coach, and close business partner with the very television executives who had been casting her as an actor on their networks for years. The culmination of this lifetime of experience has come together as Senior Agent for the premier agency worldwide, DBA, specializing in international talent. The company maintains HQ in London with offices worldwide, and Jessica oversees North American operations for DBA’s 700 actors — now from home in Austin, while also taking engagements as a guest lecturer, private coach, and seminar leader for pre-professional training in university, conservatory, and performing arts academies the world over.
